Agortimevor appointed Deputy Director of Immigration

The President, John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Assistant Director of Immigration, Mr Bonaventure Kwasi Agortimevor, to the position of acting Deputy Director of Operations of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and Psychology, as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Migration Studies, both from the University of Ghana, Legon.

He has  39 years’ experience as an Immigration Officer and has served as Dadieso Sector Commander, officer in charge of the Immigration Border Patrol Unit, officer in charge of the National Immigration Enforcement Unit, among others. 

He has undertaken numerous courses locally and internationally, including Conflict Transformation, Operational Analysis, Defence Management, Border Management and International Regulations. 

According to a statement signed by COI Francis Palmdeti, the Head of Public Affairs of GIS, before his new appointment Mr Agortimevor was the officer in charge of the Permit Processing Section and Operations Unit of the service.
