
Ahmadiyya Muslim women to attend rally
Over 3000 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association of Ghana (Lajna Imaillah) will hold their 36th national rally from August 14, 2015 at the Ghana Senior High Technical School in Takoradi.
The two-day rally to be held on the theme “Building a peaceful society: A contribution of a Muslim woman”, would also be attended by young Muslim girls (Nasirat).
A statement issued by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission said some of the activities outlined for the event included games, Quranic reading and Islamic quiz competitions.
It also said there would be exhibition of local and continental dishes by all ten regions, handicraft, as well as a route march through the principal streets of Takoradi.
Muslim scholars and some ministers of state are expected to address the rally.
The Lajna Imaillah is a women’s wing organisation within the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community which has its international headquarters in Pakistan.
The association aims at improving the living conditions of Ahmadi Muslim women and young girls and the development of their moral and spiritual lives.
