Amakom SDA supports Effiduase Govt Hospital

The Women’s Ministry Department of the Amakom District of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA) has presented a number of items to support the Children’s Ward of the Effiduase Government Hospital in the Sekyere East District in the Ashanti Region.

The items, valued at GH¢1,000 include provisions, toilet rolls, fruits and assorted drinks.

At a presentation ceremony at the hospital, the Amakom District Pastor of the SDA, Elvis Asiamah, who was assisted by the District Women’s Ministries Co-ordinator, Matilda Ampate, said having chosen Effiduase as the venue for the 2014 annual camp meeting, the district considered it necessary to support the hospital.

Pastor Asiamah said apart from spreading the gospel to the world, it was pertinent to assist the needy in society.

A Staff Nurse in charge of the Children’s Ward, Ms Alice Owusu, received the items and expressed gratitude to the church. She also asked for more from other benevolent organisations.

She stated that the 50-bed ward was congested, and even though an additional 15 beds would help, there was no space for them.

She, therefore, appealed to the government to help the hospital expand its infrastructure.
