Appointments Committee vets Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo (WATCH)
One of seven Court of Appeal justices nominated by President John Dramani Mahama for elevation to the Supreme Court, Justice Kwaku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo is currently appearing before Parliament’s Appointments Committee for vetting.
His vetting was previously suspended due to a petition from Anthony Kwabenya Rau, who accused the judge of misconduct during a court session. Rau alleged that Justice Ackaah-Boafo insulted him, calling him “arrogant” and “power drunk”, claims the nominee has firmly denied.
Today’s session is expected to conclude the vetting of all seven nominees, with the Committee set to submit its final report to the full House for consideration.
Justice Ackaah-Boafo is the last of the seven Supreme Court nominees put forward by President Mahama.
