A statement  signed by the Chief of Staff, Mr Prosper Bani, just before press time yesterday said the Communications Advisor and Spokesperson for the President , Mr Ben Dotsei Malor, and the Secretary to the President, Dr Raymond Atuguba, had concluded their contract with the  government.

Mr Malor  who joined the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau in January, 2014 had completed his term of contract and was returning to his former place of employment, the United Nations, from where he took a year’s leave of absence.

Checks at the UN Secretariat by the Daily Graphic indicate that Mr Malor had been promoted from P4 Officer to P5 Officer.

The statement said the Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, would act as spokeperson for the President until further notice.

It said the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau would take responsibility for all other communications operations and functions at the Presidency.

With regrads to Dr Atuguba, the statement said he had returned to the University of Ghana after completing a two-year Sabbatical leave at the Office of the President.

Dr Atuguba had been a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Univeristy of Ghana.

The Cabinet Secretary, Mr Roger Angsomwine has been asked to act as Secretary to the President.

The statement said the development was part of  “changes that will be taking place at the Flagstaff House over the next few days.”
