Best Point disburses GH¢26 million to MSMEs in the country

Best Point Savings and Loans (BPSL) Company Limited of the Despite Group of Companies has so far offered over GH¢26 million as loans to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.

The Board Chairman of the company, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong, who disclosed this at the opening of the Tamale branch  in the Northern Region, said the company had also mobilised total deposits of GH¢112 million within two years of operation. 

The opening of the Tamale branch brings to 15 the number of branches of the company in five regions of the country.

 

Growth

Dr Sarpong said the company would continue to come up with innovative products to ensure the growth of the SME sector in the country, particularly in northern Ghana.

“Our motivation was to establish a financial institution that would be very responsive to the needs of households and businesses and their desire for financial security and prosperity,” he explained.

He expressed the hope that the opening of the Tamale branch would serve the banking needs of the people of the three regions of the north.   

He reiterated the BPSL’s commitment to continue to support the growth of the economy, particularly in the Northern Region, by way of offering soft credit facilities to its clientele within the area.

 

Products

Dr Sarpong said BPSL offered services such as import financing, church loans, SME loans, salary loans, auto loans, susu account, Sika dua, current and fixed savings and Bestkids accounts.

He challenged the staff of the Tamale office to work hard to meet the financial needs of the people within the operational zone.

The Managing Director of BPSL, Mr Kofi Ampofo Agyapong, said the company also offered services such as Western Union Money Transfer, MoneyGram, Vigo, Airtel Money, MTN Mobile Money and Tigo Cash.  

He gave an assurance that the company would continue to be customer-centred in all its dealings.
