Bleoo ’80 donates assorted drugs to Accra Academy to mark Golden Jubilee
The Accra Academy 1980 Year Group, popularly known as Bleoo ’80, has presented assorted drugs to their alma mater as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of their admission into the school.
The presentation took place on September 23, 2025, at a short ceremony on the school’s campus.
President of the group, Mr Robert Kofigah, said the donation was to support the health needs of both students and staff.
“Today marks exactly 50 years since we entered this school, and we believe this is the time to give back in a meaningful way,” he said.
Mr Kofigah noted that good health was necessary for academic work. “A healthy mind can only be found in a healthy body. That is why we found it necessary to provide the school with these medications, so that students can focus on their studies without unnecessary health concerns,” he explained.
He added that Bleoo ’80 had in the past supported projects at the school, including the construction of the Northgate.
Assistant Headmaster (Administration), Mr Kofi Yesu, received the items on behalf of the school and said they would help ease pressure on the clinic.
“This donation will help meet the health needs of our students and staff,” he said. He encouraged students to learn from the example of the old boys by staying connected to the school after graduation.
As part of their Golden Jubilee celebrations, Bleoo ’80 has also planned a Thanksgiving Service on campus and an excursion to Safari Valley Resort.
School authorities said the donation reflects the continuing role of old students in supporting facilities and services at Accra Academy, and urged other year groups to contribute in their own ways.
