
Rawlings Foundation pays tribute to Dr Mohammed Ben Abdallah
The J.J. Rawlings Foundation has paid glowing tribute to the late Dr Mohammed Ben Abdallah, describing him as a visionary leader whose reforms left a profound impact on Ghana’s education system.
In a statement issued on Sunday, September 21, 2025, and signed by Kobina Andoh Amoakwa, the Foundation highlighted Dr Abdallah’s pioneering role in shaping secondary education during the late 1980s.
It recalled his central contribution to the introduction of the Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School concept, as well as his oversight in implementing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
“We remember Dr. Abdallah for his tireless efforts in shaping Ghana's educational system,” the Foundation said. “His commitment to educational reform has had a lasting impact on the lives of countless Ghanaians.”
The statement further described Dr Abdallah as a man of humility and integrity whose honesty and dedication to public service earned him widespread admiration. His legacy, it added, should serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.
“The J.J. Rawlings Foundation pays tribute to Dr. Abdallah's legacy, which continues to inspire future generations. May his memory be a blessing to us all. May God comfort his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the Foundation concluded.
