According to Messrs Kwame Boadi and Oliver Safo, their media production house since its inception, has been making admirable progress based mainly on a philosophy of collaboration.

Under the inGenius label, their first project was a partnership with Haslund Dencik Entertainment of Denmark to co-produce ‘Gold Coast’, a historical feature film which will be premiered in Copenhagen and Accra before it goes on worldwide release next month.

‘Sunshine Avenue,’ the latest effort from the inGenius Africa stable, is a satirical drama series which begun screening on TV3 on April 21 from 8.00pm to 9.00pm. It is is a joint work between inGenius Africa, Advantage Productions, Investkom Advisors and TV3.

Between the partners, there have been well-loved programmes like ‘Sun City,’ ‘Things We Do For Love’ and ‘Trek.’
According to Mr Boadi, they are not re-inventing the wheel, but simply adopting global best practices.

“If you watch the credits of a typical Hollywood movie, you realise it is a collaborative effort between several production, distribution and financial partners.

That is why Hollywood movies are world- class. If we want to move our television and film industry forward, then we have to replicate that model. In fact, we intend to turn Sunshine Avenue into a world- class product, viewed on multiple platforms worldwide, using that model,” Boadi pointed out.

With Sunshine Avenue, inGenius brings the creative and productive force, Advantage brings additional creativity, marketing and promotions whilst Investkom chips in with strategic financial advice.

Though still in the early stages, the partnership is already bearing fruit, with corporates like MTN-Mobile Money and GTP, already on board as sponsors and advertisers.

According to Mr Boadi, the plan is to create a pleasurable viewing experience for all the fans of ‘Sunshine Avenue’ and a unique marketing platform for high value corporates and interests.

Apart from TV3, ‘Sunshine Avenue’ will be screening on multiple platforms worldwide. The cast includes Dominic Demordzi, Miray Gomont, Ivy Adjimah, Judith Asante, Ruweida Yakubu and Baffour Adjei-Kyei.

According to Mr Boadi, a deal has already been sealed for the series to begin screening later this month on ABN TV in the United Kingdom.
