He was convicted a month after his wedding for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl who was his flower girl.

Nyaaba was arrested March 19, 2014 and charged with defiling the five-year-old girl. It was  a neighbour who accused Nyaaba of defiling the girl who had been sent to charge a mobile phone in his room.

The charge was later changed to “indecent assault” after police investigator failed to produce evidence to sustain the charge of defilement.

The court and crime reporter won his appeal last Thursday and gained his total freedom Saturday, July 4, 2015 from the Nsawam Medium Prisons.

The 33-year old reporter, who maintained he was innocent throughout the trial, has vowed to sue the state.
