A house-help, Samuel Oppong, was said to have conspired with a carpenter, Joseph Dodoo, and three others at large to invade the businesswoman’s house at about 2:00 a.m on August 8, 2014.

Oppong and Dodoo were charged with robbery but they pleaded not guilty and were remanded to reappear on September 5, 2014.

Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mrs Cynthia Anderson, told the court, presided over by Mr Francis Obiri that the complainant was a businesswoman living with her daughter at Ogbojo near Madina.

She said Oppong was a house help of the complainant and Dodoo was a carpenter.

She said armed men invaded the complainant’s residence but the dogs in the house did not react to their presence.

Three of the robbers, armed with guns, fired shots at the doors when they entered the house. They harassed occupants of the house before collecting their phones, except that of Oppong.

The alleged robbers also took a 42-inch Samsung Plasma TV set, a laptop and GH¢120.

“In the course of the attack, the robbers insisted that the daughter of the businesswoman should surrender some dollars and pounds sterling remitted to her to buy air ticket.

“Events prior to the attack revealed that on the preceeding night, at 10:30 p.m., Oppong left the gate unlocked, put off the switch to the electric fence wire and went out to buy mosquito coil for his use,” the prosecutor told the court.
