The Management of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has cautioned the public against dealing with unauthorised persons posing as recruitment agents for the service.

According to the service, the purported agents have succeeded in duping some members of the public of various sums of money, on the pretext of assisting them to be recruited into the service.

In a statement issued by the Service,  the Head of Public Relations, Mr Ellis Robinson Okoe Doll, said:  “The attention of management has been drawn to the activities of some unscrupulous individuals parading as recruitment agents for the service.

“Management wishes to state that it has not contracted any such recruitment agents to recruit people into the service,” the statement said.

It stated that persons who transacted business with any recruitment agents did so at their own risk.

The GNFS indicated that it had always advertised its recruitment and enlistment exercises in the national dailies.

In that regard, the management assured the public that all information concerning recruitment and other vacancies within the service would be duly published when necessary.

The statement advised the public to direct any further enquiries about recruitment into the service to the Public Relations Unit or Human Resource and Training Unit at the Ghana National Fire Service Headquarters.
