Dr Dotse receives philanthropic award

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the HATOF Foundation, Dr Samuel Dotse, has received the Excellence in Environmental Protection and Development award at this year’s edition of the Ghana Philanthropy Award.

The honour was in recognition of his exemplary personal and corporate/institutional social responsibility and was conferred with a an award shield and a certificate.

Dr Dotse’s award acknowledges his tireless dedication to environmental conservation and sustainable development which has significantly promoted eco-friendly practices, supported community-led initiatives, and advocated for climate action.

In all, there 50 were awardees from diverse fields such Health Care Support, Youth in Development, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Education and Women Empowerment.

The Ghana Philanthropy Awards is an annual event that recognises individuals and organisations that have made a positive impact on the country and aims to inspire and encourage philanthropic endeavours, fostering a culture of giving and social responsibility.

It brought together philanthropists, business leaders, government representatives, civil society organisations and leaders from various sectors, including education, health and the environment.

Some of the categories include Innovative Leadership in Social Change, Excellence in Health Support and Sustainability, Corporate diversification and Inclusivity, Sustainable Development Practices, Community Empowerment and Sustainability, Innovative Educational Impact and Community and Local Business Growth. 

Selection

Dr Dotse’s selection was from a comprehensive and credible nominees selection process involving several steps executed by specialist professionals, independent of the organiser’s participation.

It included the shortlisting and vetting of nominees by the contracted research consultants for conformity with the established eligibility and awardee assessment criteria.

Ultimately, an assessment and qualitative evaluation of shortlisted nominees by the specially constituted Awards Selection Jury comprising a panel of highly qualified and experienced experts in social responsibility and philanthropy concerning various aspects of socioeconomic activities.

Professionals

All professionals and experts involved in the various stages of the awardee’s selection process were guided by a comprehensive set of selection criteria.

Dr Dotse, in an interview, said he was humbled by the recognition emphasising that it was not just a personal honour but a testament to the collective efforts of his team, partners and supporters adding; “Together, we can create a greener, more resilient future for all.”
