The workshop highlighted the growing threat of human trafficking, focusing particularly on the alarming increase in trafficking Nigerian boys and girls to Ghana for cyber fraud and prostitution. Participants were given an in-depth understanding of the legal framework in Ghana and the vital roles of NGOs, civil society organizations (CSOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), and faith-based organizations (FBOs) in the fight against trafficking.

Key discussions centered on victim management, family tracing, and reintegration, emphasizing the need for collaboration between law enforcement, NGOs, and CSOs. This event reflects the commitment of all parties involved to address human trafficking in West Africa.

The workshop concluded with a call for continued education and cooperation between Ghana and Nigeria in combating this pressing issue, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools needed to tackle human trafficking effectively.

Guests in attendance included officials from the Human Trafficking Secretariat from the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, the Crime Investigation Department, the Directorate of Right To Be Free, and the Directorate of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Ghana Police Service.
