First Capital Plus Bank holds thanksgiving service

Sponsor of the local Premier League, First Capital Plus (FCP) Bank has held a special thanksgiving service to show appreciation to God and celebrate its new status as a universal bank.

The bank, which begun operations as a savings and loans company in 2009, was issued with a universal banking license to operate as a universal bank in August 2013.

 

The Chief Executive Officer of FCP bank, Mr John Kofi Mensah said the occasion was to thank God for overseeing their transition into a fully fledged bank.

He said God has been always been the centre of attraction for the operations of the bank describing it as the force that illuminates the bank’s path.

He also used the occasion to recount the journey of the company from its inception till date.

In September 2013, the bank was adjudged the non-bank financial institution of the year 2012 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) for the company’s orientation to marketing and technological innovation, investment in corporate social responsibility and strong financial performance.

In October 2013, the bank was again awarded the 10th best performing company for the year 2012 and the best in the Non-Bank Financial Institutions sector at the Ghana Club 100 awards organised by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.

The founder of the company, Mr William Ato Essien also graced the occasion to tell the story of First Capital Plus.

He said, the company was started in 2007 as a foundation based on faith, which has remained a core value of the company adding, “God uses people based on availability and not on capability.”

 

The thanksgiving service attracted lots of local gospel musicians and other high profile men of God in the country.
