Speaking at the inauguration of the foundation at Apam, Mr Victor Tokunbo Ogundepe, the Chief Executive Officer, said apart from catering for the needs of the less privileged and needy children, the foundation would also promote education, health, agriculture, sports, women and children development.

He said the foundation was registered in The Gambia in 2010 and was now being extended to Ghana.

Mr Ogundepe said a seven-member board had been elected with the Reverend Amo Baiden, a priest of the Methodist Church, as the Chairman to supervise activities of the foundation in Ghana.

He appealed to the board to be transparent in its dealings and remain an NGO committed to the less privileged.

“Please, let whatever support that you want to give go strictly to the needy children whose parents cannot afford their needs,” Mr Ogundepe said.

Mr Ogundepe appealed to parents not to use poverty as an excuse to expose their children to all forms of abuse and unfair treatment such as forced labour, hawking and early marriage.
