According to the Board Chairman of the bank, Dr Fritz Gockel, the presentation was in recognition of the Asantehene’s injection of dynamism into the chieftaincy institution.

Making the presentation at the Awukudae celebration in Kumasi, which saw the Asantehene sitting in state, Dr Gockel noted that Otumfuo Osei Tutu’s development-oriented approach had highlighted some development concerns of the people and measures to address those problems.

He said the bank believed that the Asantehene’s moves would help accelerate the development of the people.

The Managing Director of the GCB, Mr Simon Dornoo, said Asanteman contributed immensely to the development of the bank because it housed 22 branches and that had offered the bank the opportunity to invest in the people and provide jobs.

He gave an assurance that the bank would continue to upgrade its technology and the knowledge of its personnel to maintain its position as the leading bank in Ghana.
