The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that the recruitment portal for the 2026 Military Enlistment Exercise will be opened on Friday, September 4, 2026.
The exercise will allow eligible Ghanaians to apply to join the Armed Forces, subject to the requirements and selection process.
The GAF has also published the entry requirements for the 2026/2027 intake into the Ghana Military Academy.

Under the general eligibility requirements for the Military Academy intake, applicants must be Ghanaian citizens of good character, medically fit according to GAF standards and able to pass the Pre-Joining Fitness Test.
Applicants for the Regular Cadet course must also be unmarried and not bonded. They must be between 18 and 26 years old by February, 18, 2027.
The minimum height requirement is 1.68 metres (5 feet 6 inches) for male applicants and 1.60 metres (5 feet 2 inches) for female applicants.
For applicants seeking entry into the Military Police, the minimum height is 1.75 metres (5 feet 9 inches) for men and 1.70 metres (5 feet 7 inches) for women.
For academic qualifications, applicants must have six credits, Grades 1 to 6, at the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), including English, Mathematics and Science.
Applicants with the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) must have six credits, Grades A1 to C6, including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science.
Those applying with the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) must also have six credits, Grades A to D, in the required core subjects.
Under the City and Guilds route, applicants must have five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at 'O' Level, as well as Grades A to D in three subjects at 'A' Level.
The notice also states that proficiency in French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, German or Swahili would be an added advantage.
For applicants seeking admission through the Regular Career Officer Course, the GAF has listed degree requirements for various specialisation streams.
The streams include Infantry, Armour, Artillery and Army Special Operations, Signals, Information Systems and Cyber Security, Engineering, Supply and Transport, Ordnance, Explosive Ordnance, Physical Training, Education, Records, Agricultural Extension, Band and Public Relations.
Applicants under the various streams are required to hold a first degree, not below Second Class Lower, from an accredited university or institution, with the required discipline depending on the chosen stream.
The notice also lists technology-related disciplines, including Robotic Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing, among the eligible fields of study.
