The facility is set to become the permanent training centre for the National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) team, providing a dedicated space for students to prepare, train and thrive in their academic pursuits.

The science hub is designed to include advanced laboratories, dedicated study areas, and comfortable accommodation, ensuring that each team member has the best possible conditions to excel before and during the competition.

The project, which was unveiled at a ceremony on the school’s campus, aims to create a state-of-the-art environment that will house students, provide nutritious meals, and offer comprehensive support to boost their confidence and focus in the study of science.

The Project Chairman, Nana Kwadwo Frimpong-Badu at a ceremony to unveil drawings and cut the sod for the project
emphasised the importance of the initiative, saying “this science hub is not just a building; it is a vision brought to life by our commitment to excellence and our belief in the potential of every student at Ghana National College.

He called on past students and year groups, especially 2000 graduating class to support the project to completion.

He stressed that quality STEM education was critical if students were to be ably prepared for the fast-advancing world.

He said the hub would give both teachers and students access to modern teaching and learning materials essential for quality STEM education.

"Together, we can create a legacy that will empower future generations of students to achieve greatness,” Nana Frimpong-Badu said.

The headmaster of the school, Ato Sarpong thanked the year group and all other year groups for their commitment to the development of the school.
