211 teachers graduate from Aburi Presby Women’s College of Education
The Presbyterian Women’s College of Education, Aburi, has held a graduation ceremony for 211 students, charging them to become agents of change in their communities.
The graduation ceremony, which was held on the themve: “Inspiring Change, Nurturing Values in Today's Female Teacher Today”, was marked by a blend of inspiration, reflection and celebration, and drew dignitaries, parents and well-wishers from across the country.

Among the dignitaries were the former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Very Rev. Prof. J. O. Y Mante, and the Akuapem Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Ebenezer Acheampong Asiedu.
The degrees were conferred by Prof. Samuel Asiedu-Addo, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, the mentoring institution.
Valedictorian
In an emotional speech to share her academic journey, the 2024 Valedictorian, Angela Adobea, cited perseverance, faith and the support of her mentors as the driving forces behind her success.
She encouraged her fellow graduates to pursue excellence in their personal and professional lives, urging them to always have hope and preserve in the face of challenges.
"I stand here today, not just as a graduate, but as a testament to what hard work, self-belief, and the power of a strong support system can achieve," Ms Adobea stated.
Impact of teachers
Delivering the keynote address, the Eastern Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service, Dr Ivy Asantewa Owusu, underscored the vital role of female teachers in shaping future generations and emphasised the importance of integrity, empathy and resilience in their profession.

“Teachers are not just imparting knowledge; they are moulding character and inspiring dreams," Dr Mrs Owusu stated.
Inspire change
The Chairperson of the Governing Council of the College, Prof. Olivia Kwapong, in her welcome address, challenged the graduates to leverage their status as members of Generation Z to inspire meaningful change in society.
She encouraged the new graduates to harness their unique generational traits, such as adaptability, technological savvy and a passion for social justice, to create a positive impact in their roles as educators and beyond.
Values
Also in an address, Rev. Acheampong Asiedu, who represented the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, called on the graduates to embody and live by the values instilled in them by both the Church and the college.

"As you leave these walls, carry with you the values of faith, diligence and compassion that have been imparted to you," Rev. Asiedu urged the graduates.
The Principal of the College, Mrs Cynthia Anim, in a report to the congregation, gave a comprehensive report on the institution’s activities, highlighting its strides in infrastructure development, human resource expansion, and the preservation of its religious roots.
She noted that two hundred and eleven students were graduating this year, a testament to the college’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.

"Our journey has been one of growth and transformation. We have seen significant improvements in our physical structures, the quality of our Faculty, and the moral and spiritual grounding of our students," the principal stated.
She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the various stakeholders who had supported the college’s mission, including government agencies, religious bodies and philanthropic individuals.
