60th anniversary of 66 Artillery Regiment: Personnel donate blood, clean up Ho Central Market
Personnel of the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho took part in a blood donation exercise at the Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) last Wednesday and a clean-up exercise at the Ho Central Market last Friday.
The exercises were part of activities marking the 60th anniversary celebration of the regiment.
Later, the Commanding Officer of the regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Jalali Din Ibrahim, said the blood donation and clean-up were meant to serve the broader national interest.
The health and well-being of the people were also of great concern to the unit, he further explained.
The commanding officer said the exercises were also in line with the regiment’s core values of sacrifice, discipline and patriotism.
The Laboratory Officer of the 7 Medical Reception Station at the regiment, Lt (Ghana Navy) Francis Ekow Eyison, said the HTH was chosen for the blood donation exercise because of its relentless role in saving the lives of active military service men and veterans.
He described the exercises as successful.
