618 Graduate from Presbyterian University
The Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) held its 18th congregation at Abetifi in the Eastern Region last Saturday, November 9 of which degrees were conferred on 618 students in various fields of study.
The graduates, made up,of 360 women and 258 men, were from the School of Business, Faculty of Science & Technology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Development Studies, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Medical Sciences, and the School of Nursing and Midwifery,110 of them earned first class.

Addressing the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. John Ofosu-Anim, expressed delight at the female enrollment in the university.
He indicated that the development represented the resilience and power of women in academic spaces.
“We remain committed to creating an inclusive environment that encourages and empowers more women to pursue higher education and leadership roles,” he added.
Accomplishment
He commended the graduates for their hard work, perseverance, and dedication.
“It is a time to reflect on your journeys, to honour your achievements, and to look forward to the bright futures that await each of you,” he told them .
The chairman of the University Council, Justice Professor Emmanuel Nii Ashie Kotey noted that the graduating class were admitted during the most challenging period of COVID-19 pandemic.

“These students completed their secondary education and wrote their WASSCE amidst a global health crisis that tested the resilience and adaptability of educational systems worldwide, yet, they persisted.
“They adjusted to new modes of learning, endured various restrictions, and adapted to a rapidly changing educational environment. Today, we celebrate not only their academic achievements but also their remarkable resilience,” he said.
Prof. Kotey encouraged the graduates to view their degrees not merely as a credential, but as a responsibility, charging them to contribute positively to the society.
He appealed to the government to support private universities in their quest to provide quality education and world-class facilities for their students.

“With GETFund’s support, we can expand our infrastructure, especially our laboratories, libraries, and research centers, to foster a better learning environment and promote high-level research output,” he stated.
He appealed to Ghanaians to let peace prevail in the December 7 elections.
