Akyem Anamase chief calls for collaboration with investors on moringa

The Chief of Akyem Anamase, near Oda in the Eastern Region, has called on investors to collaborate with him to procure machines to process moringa into different kinds of food and medicinal products.

He said research had proven that the moringa tree could treat over 300 diseases.

Obrempong Anom, who is also the Nifahene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, made the call when he celebrated World Moringa Day at Anamase.

During an exhibition, which formed part of the celebration, Obrempong Anom took the participants through the parts of the moringa tree and their health benefits.

He said research had revealed that when the leaves of the moringa tree were given to livestock, they could make the animals’ meat lean.

Obrempong Anom promised to collaborate with the Forestry Commission to plant more moringa trees in the forests for commercial farming.

The Nifahene urged the government to use the seized excavators in the galamsey fight to reclaim the devastated lands and replant moringa trees since it had the ability to fix the lost soil nutrients for agricultural production.
