The Asene-Manso-Akroso District Assembly in the Eastern Region, from January to September 2024, collected a total revenue of GH¢624,515.05 from its internally generated funds, representing 91 per cent of the projected revenue of GH¢688,980 for the year.

He disclosed that each of the 340 communities in the district had benefitted from at least one development project provided by the assembly to raise the quality of life of the people.

Mr Incoom mentioned some of the social amenities as school blocks, markets, mechanical boreholes, electrification projects, health centres, clinics, abattoirs, road rehabilitation, among others.

He advised people in the district to honour their tax obligations regularly in order to continue to enjoy more development projects from the assembly.

The DCE also urged the revenue collectors to be honest in their revenue collections and also to render genuine accounts to the assembly.

He appealed to non-governmental organisations to support the implementation of the assembly's development agenda.

Elections

Mr Incoom urged the leaders of the various political parties to impress upon their supporters to eschew intimidation, vituperation, antagonism, character assassination and the use of hate language during their political campaigns to sustain the prevailing peace, unity and stability in the country after the December 7 general election.

The Oda District Technical Officer of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Andrews Asare Nti, who also spoke at the ceremony, expressed concern about the rampant theft of transformers in the area and urged the assembly members to be watchdogs to check the menace.

He announced that all damaged electric poles in the district were being replaced by the company.

Mr Asare Nti said the ECG was providing free streetlights for all the communities in the district.

He enjoined the assembly members to educate the people in their electoral areas to pay their electricity tariffs promptly in order to continue to enjoy improved services.

The Finance and Administration sub-committee chairman of the assembly, Yaw Antwi-Boasiako, appealed to the government to pay benefits to the immediate past assembly members, which had been delayed for over one year.
