Awards
The TIMEA awards are designed to recognise and reward outstanding journalism that promotes awareness and understanding of the telecommunications and technology industry in Ghana.
Areas of concentration for the awards included reports on issues affecting Tower companies, mobile network operators (MNO), fibre infrastructure companies, original equipment manufacturers and electronic money issuers, among others.
Winning entry
Mr Mustapha's award-winning entry, titled "How telcos can drive digital learning agenda," emerged as the most outstanding from several entries. The article urged telcos to zero-rate educational materials to give eLearning a push and make it more affordable. In return, the government can provide tax incentives to the telcos.
