Experts meet in Abuja to discuss sustainable development in Africa
Industry leaders, global figures and visionaries are set to converge on the Nigerian capital of Abuja to engage in thought-provoking dialogues in a bid to chart a new narrative of the African continent.

Led by the Olu (traditional king) of Warri in Nigeria’s Delta State, Ogiame Atuwatse III, and his wife, stakeholders who aim at driving positive change in Africa, will be joined by policymakers, scholars and citizens to explore strategies for sustainable development to address Africa's unique challenges.
The initiative will be held under the umbrella of 'Elevate Africa' on October 10, 2024 and October 11, 2024.
It is, therefore, designed to showcase Africa's potential and also create a platform where African voices can lead the conversation on their own development.
Some notable personalities to grace the occasion include the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rokel Commercial Bank, Dr Walton Ekundayo Gilpin; the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources of Sierra Leone, Umaru Napoleon Koroma; a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, USA, Kim Schofieldand; and the Founder of Mind Hub Directory in Australia, Liza Pavlakis.

They will share insights on financial empowerment in Africa, discuss sustainable mining practices; a critical issue for the continent's future and explore the intersections of policy and leadership.
This will underscore the global influence of African Diaspora leaders and other critical issues affecting Africa's growth trajectory.
Mental health experts will also share their expertise to challenge existing perceptions and inspire a reimagined future for Africa.

Ultimately, the event will foster collaboration and experience sharing across the board to create a unified vision for Africa's growth, prioritising economic resilience, political stability, and social equity to propel the continent towards a prosperous and inclusive future.
The royal couple, in a statement to express their commitment to transforming Africa, noted that the platform would empower the next generation of African leaders.
They added that the fellowship aligned with their vision of fostering innovation and sustainable solutions that resonate beyond Africa's borders.
"Moreover, the Elevate Africa Fellowship will focus on promoting global collaboration and leadership development, essential for Africa’s integration into the global economy,” they said.
"As the world watches, this convening promises to redefine Africa’s narrative, emphasising the continent’s resilience, creativity and potential for growth,” they added.
