Former KATH CEO honoured

A former Chief Executive officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital,  (KATH) Dr Oheneba Owusu Danso,  has been honoured by the Business Executive Media Group and Ghana Titans for his impact on the operations of the hospital and medical care in the country generally.

Dr Owusu Danso, who also once served as the General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association and Secretary of the Commonwealth Medical Association, was awarded the Personality of Great Impact and Excellence Award.

He was presented with a plaque by  Dr Leslie Casely Hayford, a development consultant.

Dr Owusu Danso,a plastic surgeon served as Chief Executive of the KATH for five years and helped to revitalise the completion of a number of stalled projects.

The citation acknowledged that " through your vast implementation of more than 30 projects and initiatives at the KATH, you became an exceptional example of an impactful Ghanaian to the health sector in the country".

Under the direction of Dr Oheneba Danso,the KATH  became the first public hospital to be officially accredited by the Health Facilities Regulatiry Agency ( HeFRA) with a score of 84 per cent.

Dr Casely Hayford commended Dr Oheneba Danso for his initiative, resourcefulness and commitment to improving the welfare of staff and patients at the KATH.

In receiving the award, Dr Oheneba Danso expressed gratitude and appreciation for the recognition and pointed out that it stemmed out of the dedication of the staff and the appreciation of patients about the quality of health care they received at the hospital.
