Ghanaian businesses urged to explore American trade opportunities
The United States Embassy in Accra has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen business ties between Ghana and the United States.
Speaking at a California wine tasting event in Accra, the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy, Rolf Olson, said “the United States is proud to be one of Ghana’s preferred trade partners, encouraging Ghanaian businesses to explore the diverse range of American products and expertise on display.
The event jointly facilitated by the U.S. Embassy and the Foreign Agricultural Service, organised by the United States Embassy in Accra forms part of activities marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
It was designed to connect American vendors directly with Ghanaian trade stakeholders and to highlight the breadth of U.S. agricultural and commercial offerings available for partnership.
He explained that the enduring Ghana-U.S. relationship had created a solid commercial foundation, and that Ghanaian consumers’ strong appetite for quality American goods presented a compelling opportunity for local businesses willing to deepen their engagement with American producers and suppliers.
Mr Olson further highlighted the shared entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to innovation that bind California and Ghana, describing these common values as fertile ground for stronger and more sustained commercial partnerships.
He said the United States was proud to be one of Ghana’s preferred trade partners calling on Ghanaian importers, distributors and trade professionals to take full advantage of the growing range of American products and commercial expertise accessible to them.
He drew a direct parallel between California’s world-renowned wine industry and Ghana’s own vibrant and expanding business community.
“In this year marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence — Freedom 250 — we are showcasing the ingenuity, creativity and commitment of American farmers and producers,” he added.
