Koinonia Group supports Humanity Children’s Home

Koinonia Group of Companies has donated assorted items and cash worth over GH¢20,000 to the Kumasi Humanity Children’s Home as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The Chief Executive of the company, Daniel Mensah, said the plight of the inmates of the home touched the staff of the company who decided to put smiles on the faces of the children.

In line with that, he said the company donated food items, toiletries and cash to the home which is under the Department of Social Welfare.

The gesture also formed part of the company’s annual outreach support to vulnerable children.

The items included canned fish, sugar, assorted washing soap, packets of toffees, toiletries, bags of rice, a bag of gari, bottled water, soft drinks, wheat and cash.

Mr Mensah further said the donation was an annual affair, adding “we believe in giving back to the community and supporting healthcare and social welfare initiatives”.

He said the company, a Ghanaian conglomerate, had demonstrated consistent commitment to social welfare.

Appreciation

Receiving the items on behalf of the home, a social worker, Rita Owusu Ansah, expressed gratitude to the company for the support, describing it as timely.

She said the home relied heavily on public support for survival, and urged other corporate bodies and individuals to emulate the gesture.

Management, staff and the children at the home, also expressed appreciation for the donation, while appealing to the general public for more support.
