A Staff Writer of the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL), Augustina Tawiah, has received a special award from the Good Shepherd Methodist Church, Kaneshie North Circuit for her years of dedicated service to the church.
Ms Tawiah, who is attached to the flagship newspaper of the GCGL, Daily Graphic, received a plaque with the inscription “For your years of dedicated service to the Methodist Church Ghana and to the Good Shepherd Methodist Church, we present you with this special award.”
The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Professor Johnson Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, who was the special guest, presented the award to Ms Tawiah during the climax of the 60th anniversary celebration of the Good Shepherd Methodist Church on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Six other members of the society were also recognised for their services to the church.
Editorial board
At the diocesan level, she is a member of the editorial board of the quarterly magazine of the Accra Diocese known as, the Wesleyan Voice as well as a member of the Diocesan Communication and Publications Office Advisory Team.
She was also a member of the committee that planned the last Diocesan Synod which saw the separation of the Northern Accra Diocese from the then Accra Diocese.
Also present at the ceremony were, the Methodist Bishop of Accra, Right Rev. Dr Samuel Nii Nmai Ollennu; the Lay Chairman of the Accra Diocese, Henrietta Angmor and the Secretary of Synod, Accra Diocese, Very Rev. Doris Saah.
Service to church
Ms Tawiah started worshipping with the Good Shepherd Society as a member of the Children’s Service and the Girls Brigade.
She is currently an active member of the Women’s Fellowship.
She continues to serve the church in various roles including being the secretary to the leaders’ meeting, secretary to the circuit quarterly meeting, secretary to the Kaneshie North Circuit Women’s Fellowship and secretary to many special committees established by the church.
