Otumfuo’s cultural authority earns global image, respect — Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings
A Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has congratulated the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on his double celebration during his 74th birthday and silver jubilee as King of Asanteman.

In a congratulatory message, Mrs Agyeman-Rawlings described Otumfuo’s leadership as inspirational and refreshing, for having been able to bring Asanteman together and ensured that traditional leaders in Ashanti had led exemplary lifestyles.
Also, she commended Otumfuo’s leadership and cultural authority which had earned for Asanteman and Ghana global image and respect.

The former First Lady, who has family ties with the Asantehene, in her message said : “As a close family member, I have known Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for well over half a century. That notwithstanding, his role as Asantehene has been refreshing and inspirational.
“Otumfuo has exhibited great leadership in bringing Asanteman together, wielded the discipline that has ensured that traditional leaders in Ashanti lead exemplary lives and serve as an inspiration for their people.’
“Nana’s leadership and cultural authority have given Asanteman and Ghana a global image, with many overawed by the beauty and colour of the tradition and culture he represents.
“Congratulations on your 74th birthday and the 25th anniversary of your ascension to the Golden Stool, Nana Osei Tutu II,” the message concluded.
Presence
As a direct descendant of the Asante Royal family, Mrs Agyeman-Rawlings has made it a responsibility to participate in most traditional Ashanti events. She and her children, Zanetor, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina and Kimathi, thus fully participated in the official events held to climax Otumfuo’s birthday, and also to commemorate the silver jubilee of his ascension of the throne.
