Prioritise children’s education - Ablekuma North Municipal Education Director advises parents
The Ablekuma North Municipal Director of Education, Ebenezer Perry Ofori, has advised parents and guardians to prioritise the education of their children and wards by investing in the provision of their needs.
He said such an investment would provide a solid foundation for their children’s academic journey, which they needed in the ever-evolving competitive world of opportunities.

Mr Ofori made the call during the climax of the fifth anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Ablekuma North Municipal Education Directorate in the Greater Accra Region.
5th anniversary
As part of activities to commemorate the anniversary, officials, head teachers, teachers, learners and key municipal officials gathered at the Kwashieman Cluster of Schools for a parade.
They also went on a route march through the principal street of Odorkor.
Also, an exhibition was held to showcase projects undertaken by the municipal assembly while deserving people were also honoured.
Shared responsibility
At the exhibition that focused on education, Mr Ofori stated that the education of children was a shared responsibility among parents, teachers and the community and, therefore, urged parents not to leave everything in the hands of teachers as they also had a role to play to ensure that their children studied at home and did their assignments.
“Yes, basic and senior high school education is free, however, while teachers play their roles in the classrooms to provide effective teaching, parents and guardians also have a role to play to ensure that their children and wards are provided with their basic needs to enable them to concentrate in school.

“That is how all of us as stakeholders invest in the right foundation for the children to be able to make it in this fast-evolving competitive world in which education is a stepping stone,” the Municipal Director of Education stressed.
Mr Ofori also lauded the Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly for creating a conducive environment through the provision of educational infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning in the area.
He thanked all stakeholders in the education sector in the municipality for playing their respective roles to ensure the delivery of quality teaching and learning in schools and called on the learners to focus on their studies and remain disciplined and respectful to authorities both at school and in their communities.
Teacher Prize Awards
The Ablekuma North Municipal Director of Education also commended teachers for their dedication and hard work and announced that the municipal edition of the Ghana Teacher Prize Awards would be held on November 8, 2024, to recognise the hard work of teachers in the municipality.
