The new executive members are Dr Akaa Nyamike, Chairman; Mr Peter Wireko, Vice Chairman; Madam Paulina Acheampong,  Regional Secretary; Mr Joseph Odame Danquah, Regional Treasurer; and Mr Jonathan Nii Nai Anyetei, Assistant Treasurer, are to run a two-year tenure of administration.

Inducting the executive members in Accra last Wednesday, the outgoing chairman of the association, Mr Kwame Appiah Danquah, urged them to establish an effective mobilisation and training plan that would help the association generate more revenue.

Advice to executive

Mr Danquah said one of the challenges facing the association was the inability of some directors and general managers to attend meetings organised by the association.

“This attitude is killing the association because they do not get the right feedback from their representatives, hence they do not appreciate what the association is doing for its members,” he said.

He, therefore, advised the new executive to find ways of increasing the number of directors and general managers who attend the meeting.

Mr Danquah also called on the members to increase the pace at which they paid their business operating permit (BOP) to their various assemblies, saying, “If we do not put a stop to this attitude, they will take a decision to increase rates without consulting the association and that will be a disaster.”

New chairman

The new Chairman of the association, Dr Nyamike, said his team would need the active commitment of all members in order to move the branch to a new level.

He pledged to work hard to achieve the mission and vision of the association.
