Man kills brother, commits suicide

A 45-year-old hunter, Kwesi Nimako, of Barman, near Bonwire, Thursday shot his younger brother, Joseph Akwesi, 40, and later killed himself.

The two were said to have argued over an issue, during which Nimako got offended, went into his room, pulled a gun and shot his brother.

Joseph was rushed to the Juaben Hospital where he was referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

At the time of filing this report, he was still receiving treatment.

But Nimako, thinking that Joseph had died and for fear that he (Nimako) could be arrested, shot himself in the neck minutes later.

Indeed, members of the community had tried to stop him from committing suicide but he threatened to kill anyone who got close to him.

Superintendent Bismark Agyepong of the Mamponteng Divisional Police told the Daily Graphic that details about the shooting incident were still sketchy.
