Each of the vocational students will receive GH₵345 a year for three years.

MP’s address

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asene-Manso-Akroso, Mr George Kwame Aboagye, who is the brain behind the scholarship scheme, advised the beneficiary students to study hard and lead morally upright lives.

He said nine tertiary students were awarded scholarships last year.

Retain President Nana Akufo-Addo

Mr Aboagye encouraged the people in the district to continue supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and retain the government in power in the 2020 general election in order for them to have their development accelerated and to also continue enjoying good governance.

The Asene-Manso-Akroso Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Alex Incoom, commended Mr Aboagye for initiating the district scholarship scheme.

He encouraged students who had not yet benefitted from the scheme not to feel downhearted but have hope that their turn would come next.

Mr Incoom said the assembly spent GH¢97,000 on scholarships for 56 tertiary students in the 2019/2020 academic year and promised to have the number increased in the next academic year.

The Chairman of the awards committee, Mr Ben Ahmed Tawiah, who is the Managing Director of Metropolitan Insurance Company, said the fund had been legally registered with the Registrar-General’s Department.
