Indomie supports sanitation day campaign
Indomie has supported the National Sanitation Day (NSD) campaign with various initiatives aimed at making it a success.
The initiatives include the participation of the company’s staff in the clean-up exercise on stipulated dates, the provision of litter bins to various organisations, as well as the sentisation of the general public to the need to keep clean surroundings.
The Brands Manager, Mr Shine Akiem Torsoo, said the company had so far donated a number of litter bins to selected lorry parks and markets. He mentioned that health facilities such as the 37 Military Hospital and Korle Bu Teaching Hospitals had benefitted from the free dustbins.
Mr Torsoo added that the company had also given out litter bins to the University of Ghana and the University of Professional Studies.
He also said staff of the company had embarked on health and sanitation campaigns in some market centres to ensure that cholera outbreaks in the country did not recur.
Mr Torsoo explained that health and sanitation education had been made an integral part of their sales activities, with their wholesale agents being made sanitation ambassadors at their various locations.
He said it had been the philosophy of the company to ensure the welfare of the customer not only by providing good quality products but by creating total customer value, which extends to their very welfare.
“We would not even shy away from supporting research to find a sustainable solution to sanitation problems,” he concluded.
