‘Involve migrant communities in decision-making’

The Paramount Chief of the Lawra Traditional Area, Naa Puowele Karbo III, has called for the involvement of migrant communities in decision-making by their host communities to make for peaceful and beneficial relationship.

He said when done, it would enable the migrant communities to be assimilated and integrated into the cultures and practices of the host communities.
Naa Karbo was speaking at the outdooring of the new Dagaaba chief at Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Dagaaba community

The Daagaba community in the Techiman paramouncy comprises citizens from several paramouncies including Lawra, Nandom, Jirapa and Nadowli in the Upper West Region.

The paramoucies occupy more than half of the land area and population of the region and are bound by a common language, culture and history.
Dagaabas are the biggest migrant group in the Brong Ahafo Region that contributes to the food basket of the country.
