He also advised drivers, particularly commercial ones, to refrain from the intake of alcohol to avoid carnage on the roads.

He said excessive intake of alcohol could create health challenges for people.

Mr Amenyah made the appeal when he led a team from KCL on a visit to  Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL)  in Accra last Tuesday.

The team was received by the Editor of the Daily Graphic, Mr Ransford Tetteh.

KCL also gave 10 cartons of assorted products to the editorial team.

Excessive intake of alcohol

Explaining his advice, he said the excessive intake of alcohol had the tendency to affect the health of individuals and stressed the need for Ghanaians not to abuse the use alcohol.

“All we are saying to Ghanaians during this festive season is avoid excessive intake of alcohol to protect yourself and your family,” he said.

Touching on some of the measures to ensure safety on the roads, Mr Amenyah said KCL was collaborating with the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) to maintain sanity on the roads.

“Kasapreko will also educate Ghanaians on how to maintain a healthy life by avoiding activities that could pose a threat to their health,” he said.

KCL performance

According to Mr Amenyah, although the company faced numerous challenges during the year, notable among them being the energy crisis, the company was able to introduce effective initiatives to stay on top as one of the best beverage companies in the sub-region.

“KCL was named one of the top five brands in the world by the Cable News Network (CNN)),” he added.

Mr Amenyah said the company would continue to invest in and introduce quality products in the coming year, adding that “all we need is for Ghanaians to support their own”.

Graphic’s gratitude

Mr Tetteh, who received the items on behalf of the editorial team, thanked the company for the gesture and commended it for the successes it chalked up during the year.

He, however, asked the KCL to explain the company’s campaign for responsible drinking in order to not create the wrong impression.  He added that it was equally important for drivers not to drive under the influence of alcohol.
