Kokobra-Okyerekrom road rehabilitation in progress

Tarring and upgrading of the first phase of the 1.8-kilometre Kokobra-Okyerekrom road in the Ejisu/Juabeng municipality in the Ashanti Region has started to improve on the road network in the community.

 The GH¢590,000 project is a fulfilment of the government’s pledge to improve upon the road network to facilitate the movement of goods and people in the area.  

Inspecting the project, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu/Juabeng, Mr Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, said it was designed to enhance the movement of the people in the rural areas.

He said Kokobra and other communities deserved proper roads and other social amenities to enhance commercial activities and the living conditions of the people.

Mr Ponko said the assembly, with its development partners, had completed feasibility studies to find a lasting solution to the water problem facing the people through the construction of a dam in the community .

Reaction

Residents of the community were excited by the tarring of the road, as it would facilitate the movement of goods and services in the area.

They expressed their appreciation to the government for its development agenda for the area.
