Under the MoU, UT Life Insurance Company Limited will use GH¢150,000 to procure play equipment, provide neat lawns and a 24-hour security for the children’s park.

The Minister of MoGCSP, Nana Oye Lithur, who signed the MoU on behalf of her ministry, commended UT Life for taking the initiative to help lift the image of the park to international standards.

She said children across the country needed to get better recreational centres where they would be able to unwind at the weekends.

She, therefore, thanked the company for the gesture, which would give a face-lift to the park and elicit more patronage.

The Managing Director of UT Life, Mr Tibu Aziz, who signed the MoU on behalf of his company, said the renovation of the park formed part of the company’s social responsibility.

He added that the company intended to renovate all other children’s parks in the remaining regions to help give children more comfortable places to play.

He said the renovation of the playgrounds would also include a 24-hour security where parents would feel comfortable whenever they sent their children there.

Mr Aziz said as a life insurance company, the welfare of people were of prime concern to them and, therefore, their decision to provide them with security.

The Chief Director of the MoGCSP, Mr Amo Himbson, together with the General Manager, Business Development of UT Life, Mr Sheriff Abudu, signed as withnesses to the agreement.
