Kumasi Vision International Club donates to widows
The Vision International Club in Kumasi has donated 40 bags of rice,150 live birds and cash to a number of widows and widowers at Suame in Kumasi.
Among the beneficiaries were women who lost their husbands during peacekeeping operatons in Lebanon, Sudan, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Making the presentation, Mr Samuel Takyi, the life patron of the club, said the items and cash were the club’s widow’s mite to put smiles on the faces of the widows.
As part of its social responsibility, the club gave 20 litre bins to the Centre for National Culture to improve on sanitation at the place and also painted some portions of the centre.
The club also donated items, including 100 tubers of yam, five bags of garden eggs and five bags of maize, to the All Nations Orphanage at Ayigya, also in Kumasi.
