Marbles and Granites MD arrested over branding of NDC vehicles
The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has arrested the Managing Director of Marbles and Granites, Dr Edmund Ayo Ani, and two others for allegedly taking pictures of vehicles parked at a warehouse on the Spintex Road and circulating them on social media.

It was claimed that the vehicles, allegedly meant for the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), were being branded in NDC colours in the yard.
Dr Ani’s office is reported to be close to the warehouse.
The three were arrested last Friday by personnel from the Police SWAT team and taken to the Cantonments Police Station but were later handed over to the BNI.
Arrest confirmed
Meanwhile, the National Security Advisor, Alhaji Baba Kamara, has confirmed that he ordered the arrest of the managing director of the quarry company.
He said it was wrong for Dr Ani to take pictures of vehicles parked in his (Kamara’s) warehouse on the Spintex Road and circulate them on social media.
Alhaji Kamara said the yard in which the Mahindra vehicles were parked was his property and it was not right for Dr Ani to take pictures of them, put them on social media and later accuse him (Kamara) of rebranding the vehicles meant for the NCCE.
“It was wrong for Dr Ani to just get up, look into somebody's yard and take pictures,” he said.

He wondered if the publication of the said pictures had compromised his security.
The National Security Advisor hinted that he would drag Dr Ani before court to explain why he took those pictures.
Also, he would want an explanation from Dr Ani as to where he got the information that the cars were NCCE property which had been rebranded in NDC colours.
The lawyer for the MD, Nana Adjei Baffuor, confirmed that his client and two security men were arrested while they were at work.
As of the time of going to press, reports indicated that Dr Ani and the two others had been granted bail.
