The items included clothes, footwear, water kettles and copies of the Holy Qur’an and other Islamic literature.

The President of EMYC, Hussein Abubakar Sadiq Sufi, said the items (raised by members of the club and other donors) were meant to improve the living conditions of the needy and to demonstrate that they were concerned about the people’s welfare.

Advice

Mr Sufi advised parents and guardians to inculcate the spirit of giving and volunteerism into their children and wards.

That, he said, would motivate children to support the poor and vulnerable in society in their adult life.

He stressed the need for Muslim parents to educate their children to the highest level.

“I would like to implore our Muslim parents to take a keen interest in their children’s education in both Islamic and secular teachings, so that they can attain the highest on the educational ladder,” he said.

Members of the community thanked the EMYC for its kindness and said the items would assist them greatly.
