The Pokuase Stool became vacant after the chief, Nii Amanor I, who was enstooled in 2008, unceremoniously left Ghana about three years ago.

A letter of appointment dated April 9, 2015 and signed by the Otublohum Mantse, Nii Dodoo Nsaki II, said “having sworn the oath of allegiance before the people of Otublohum, Nii Amanor I violated the oath and unceremoniously left the shores of Ghana.

“In consultation with members of the Otublohum Divisional Council and under the powers conferred on me, I do hereby appoint Nii Amoo, the Dzasetse of Otublohum, as the acting Pokuase Mantse,” the letter said.

It said Nii Amoo would act in that stead until a substantive Pokuase Mantse was duly nominated, elected and installed in accordance with the custom, practice and usage of the people of Otublohum.

The letter was copied to the Inspector-General of Police, the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, the Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, the Head of the Dodoo Clottey family of Pokuase, the Pokuase Mannye, the Greater Accra Regional Lands Officer and the Registrar, Deeds Registry, Accra, among others.

Nii Nsaki is also the President of the Otublohum Divisional Council and acting President of the Ga Traditional Council.

Nii Amoo, known as Francis Darku Peppeo Amoo, is a public relations practitioner who began his public life with the Public Services Commission.

He later  taught at the defunct SNAPS College of Accountancy in Accra and also worked as the Co-operative Development Officer for the Greater Accra Region.
