North Kaneshie Presby celebrates 5th anniversary
The North Kaneshie District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Monday (Founder’s Day) marked its 5th anniversary with various activities, including a health walk, health screening, blood donation, and gospel musical concert.

The health walk, which was the first of the events for the day, started early in the morning with the various congregations under the district walking from their respective places of worship to converge on the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex.
They then walked from the Sports Complex to the Christ Family congregation in North Kaneshie to continue with the rest of the activities scheduled for the day.
They displayed placards, some of which read ‘healthy living’, ‘Give your Life to Christ’, ‘When it comes to eating right and exercising, there is no tomorrow because tomorrow is a disease’.
The District Minister, Rev. Philip Annan-Nai exhorted the congregants to, in addition to the Christian disciplines of prayer, fasting, bible studies and holiness, adopt healthy lifestyles to prolong their lives. There were also health talks on hepatitis B and blood donation by ASP Dr Kwame Ayisi.
Congregants and neighbours who took advantage of the public holiday to join the gathering were later screened for hepatitis B, vaccinated and given free oral screening or dental examination and cleaning.
Some personnel from the National Blood Services of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital led by Ms Sophia Blankson were on the grounds to collect several voluntary pints of blood to augment the stock of the blood bank.
The children in the district were provided with recreational equipment, such as bouncy castles to enable them play and socialize, since it was a public holiday.

The District Clerk and emcee, Mrs Elizabeth Simpson, invited various music groups in the district to render melodious songs to glorify God whie the activities were ongoing.
The North Kaneshie district, which was carved out of the Kaneshie District in 2009, is made up of the Christ’s family Congregation, Fritz Ramseyer, Bethel, North Industrial Area, NOP-Kantamanto, Glory Agyapaye, and NOP-Bubiashie congregations largely located in the North Kaneshie and Bubiashie Communities.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Bro. Samuel Owusu-Ofori said the anniversary will be climaxed on Sunday.
