NPP’s ‘Wongbo ‘demonstration was a “health walk’ – Power Minister

The Minister for Power, Mr Kwabena Donkor, has described the “Wongbo” demonstration held in Accra by the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Wednesday as a healthy ‘health walk”.

The demonstration, attended by thousands of Ghanaians, was staged in protest at the power crisis that has rocked the country.

Commenting on the development on Accra-based Joy FM, the Power Minister described the demonstration as self-serving, stressing that the NPP wanted to take advantage of the power crisis for their political ends.

According to Dr Donkor, if the NPP were interested in solving the power crisis, they would have used the institution of Parliament to find out what the government was doing to solve the crisis.

“I appreciate their right to go and exercise. The more they exercise the healthy they become and it’s good for the country,” he added.
