Pastor asks 200,000 people to donate $300 so he can buy new jet

Often, pastors are a little more subtle with their e-requests, but Reverend Creflo Dollar seems to have thrown that out the window, deciding to go all out in a scheme which some people are going to spend their hard earned money on.

The aptly named Rev Dollar, head of the World Changers Church International, put a notice on his church’s website, pleading for help to replace their old jet which developed a fault.

According to MailOnline, the church was aiming for a Gulfstream G650, the latest model in private jets which only the top billionaires in the world can afford.

The petition aimed to get 200,000 people worldwide to donate $300 each, to raise the $65m needed for the Gulfstream. According to the appeal, the jet is a necessity, to enable the church continue their good works.

“We believe it is time to replace the aircraft so our pastors and staff can continue to safely and swiftly share the Good News of the Gospel worldwide. We need your help to continue reaching a lost and dying world for the Lord Jesus Christ,” the petition said.

Creflo is already known for being one of the most extravagant ministers out there, owning two Rolls Royce’s and multimillion dollar homes in Atlanta and New Jersey. 

Following significant backlash, the church took down the petition from their site.
