Out of the number, 52 widows were given start-up capitals ranging from GH¢100 to  GH¢500 to start business.

At the ceremony, the founder of the USP, Rev. Apostle Prince Isaac Aryee, said the organisation had been in existence for the past three years and had established four branches in the Volta, Western and Ashanti regions, which are yet to start operation.

The organisation also presented bags of rice, cooking oil, cloth and blankets to some widows at Weija and Tettegu in the Ga South District.

Love and care

At the ceremony, Rev Aryee said his outfit was committed to extending love and care to the needy, hence the decision to come to the aid of the people, indicating that he had supported the youth to acquire vocational skills training in hairdressing, auto mechanics, masonry, driving and carpentry.

He had also paid for the school fees of 16 orphans, while 12 of them are currently in apprenticeship.

He appealed to public-spirited individuals and organisations to help needy persons, and further called for support from well-wishers to assist the organisation and some 100 orphans.

The support, he said, should be in the form of second-hand clothing, food items, old furniture, books, money, as well as assistance for the building of an orphanage for children, stressing that, “If the nation will improve, churches, assembly members and chiefs need to equally help the government by supporting those in need”.
