The items, which include two industrial nebulisers, two weighing scales, 10 mattresses, four sofa beds, 15 large size baby cots and curtains, are to support the ward to render effective services to its clients.

The presentation

Presenting the items to the hospital on behalf of the association, the President of POLAS, Commissioner of Police (COP) Mrs Joana Osei-Poku, said the association was committed to fulfilling its obligation to the ward.

She said being made up of women, one of the interests of the association was to ensure the welfare of children, hence the adoption of the ward.

“As mothers, we will continue to open our arms to these young ones every time they need us,” she added.

COP Osei-Poku, who is also the Director General of the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS), said the association adopted the ward not because it was at the Police Hospital but because of the numerous services it rendered to Ghanaians.

She added that POLAS would continue to support the hospital to deliver quality services to all patients.

A pediatrician at the hospital, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)/Dr Marian Tetteh-Korboe, who received the items, expressed appreciation to POLAS for the gesture.
