
Police arrest robbery suspect at Wassa Nkran
The Police has apprehended a suspect, Enoch Asimiga, in connection with a robbery incident that occurred on Thursday, June 13, at Wassa Nkran in the Western Region.
According to preliminary investigations, Asimiga allegedly attacked a victim with a locally manufactured pistol and robbed him of an unspecified amount of money before fleeing into a nearby cocoa farm.
The victim immediately raised an alarm, prompting a swift response from members of the community, which led to the suspect’s arrest.
A subsequent search resulted in the recovery of one BB live cartridge, a locally manufactured pistol, and a Samsung mobile phone believed to belong to the victim.
The police in a statement said the suspect is currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations. He is expected to be arraigned on a charge of robbery.
